In July 2018 Noumea Rotary Clubs undertook the installation of Aqualone irrigation systems in the Northern Province of New Caledonia providing a water saving system optimising the productivity of plants in agricultural high schools Michel Rocard (Pouembout) and Do Neva (Houailou).
Students from the schools were involved in the projects and trained in how to maintain the farm equipment ensuring ongoing self-management and sustainability. The cost of the project, 900 000 cpf, (NZD13,300) was shared between the three New Caledonian clubs and the Rotary International Foundation.
A symbolic tree was planted on site, to commemorate the event. More photos of this project can be viewed on the Noumea Ducos Boulari Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/rcnoumeaducosboulari/ . Note how well they have profiled ROTARY.
