30 Rotarians from 10 different clubs from District 3131 (India) travelling in 8 cars have hit the roads of New Zealand to see the country and to meet as many Rotarians as possible to Connect through Rotary. Their journey will cover Auckland, Dargaville, Paihia, Rotaorua, Taupo, Wellington, Christchurch, Wanaka and Queenstown over 2 weeks.
The focus of this rally is to build international friendships and peace, and to promote End Polio.   The video below show the hospitality at the meeting of the Bay of Islands Rotary club where they were treated to a delicious meal, wonderful fellowship for the evening.  Each of the 10 clubs represented by the rally members received a Bay of Islands Rotary banner to take back to their clubs in friendship and the hope that a continued relationship could be established.
The rally said that D.3131 would be willing to become a donating Global Grant project partner should that opportunity arise.
This is the third annual rally held by D.3131 with the first a 10,000km tour of India and last year from India to Nepal and back.  Next year's rally will be to Mynmar.
